  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • For the Frosting:
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pink food coloring

Instructions

  1. Cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  7. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between cookies.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Let cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. To make the frosting: Beat softened butter until creamy.
  11. Gradually add powdered sugar, alternating with milk, until smooth and spreadable.
  12. Stir in vanilla extract.
  13. Add pink food coloring until desired shade is reached.
  14. Frost the cooled cookies generously.

Notes

  • For thicker cookies, use a larger cookie scoop.
  • Do not overmix the dough once the flour is added.
  • Adjust baking time based on your oven.
