Meet Maya Thompson
Hi, I’m Maya, the founder, recipe developer, and chief cookie enthusiast behind Let’s Make Cookies!
My love affair with baking began in my grandmother’s cozy kitchen in the heart of the Midwest. The scent of her classic chocolate chip cookies wasn’t just a smell—it was the aroma of home, comfort, and love. Standing on a stool with a little flour on my cheek, I learned that a few simple ingredients could be transformed into pure happiness.
For years, I built a career in marketing, but my heart always led me back to the kitchen. I was the friend who brought a fresh batch of snickerdoodles to the office, the neighbor who dropped off oatmeal raisin cookies just because, and the mom who sent care packages filled with baked love. Friends and family were always asking, “This is amazing! Can I get the recipe?”
The “aha!” moment came when I realized I could combine my passion for sharing stories with my love for baking. I wanted to create a welcoming corner of the internet where I could demystify baking and show everyone that you don’t need to be a professional pastry chef to create incredible cookies.
And so, Let’s Make Cookies was born.
